How far in advance should I book my 4 Day Wilderness Trip?

We have a limited number of start dates to book because we are authorized to operate as a special use permittee by the BLM and USFS. Check availability as early as possible to assure your desired date.

Is Trip Insurance or Travel Insurance required when I book a 4 Day Wilderness Trip?

It is not required, but Grieve's Guide Service highly recommends trip insurance/travel insurance when booking our 4 Day Rogue Wilderness Fishing Trips. Once we book the lodging and guides, we are committed within 60 days of the trip date. The insurance will reimburse your payment in the event that you need to cancel your trip due to illness (or any other reason) and we are unable to rebook the date (and refund any money).

How far in advance should I book my day fishing trip?

Day trips can be booked with short notice depending on party size and weekend/weekday preference.

How long is a day fishing trip & a half day fishing trip?

Grieves Guide Service offers day fishing trips that are 8 hours and half day fishing trips that are 5 hours.

What should I bring on a day fishing trip?

Your angling license and Salmon/Steelhead tag along with any food or beverages you want while on the river. Camera, hat, sunscreen and dress according to the weather at the time of your trip.

What is the difference between summer steelhead and winter steelhead?

Other than the time of year that they are in the river the size is the biggest difference. Summer Steelhead are smaller averaging 6 to 8 pounds and the winter Steelhead averaging 8 to 15 pounds.

Where can I purchase a fishing license in Southern Oregon?

Several retail stores such as Fred Meyer, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Wal-Mart and Bi-Mart sell angling licenses. You can also go to the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife website and purchase them. Are your fishing trips catch and release only?

No, depending on what species, season and river you are fishing, there is usually an opportunity to catch hatchery fish to keep.
